Metabolism Matters!

Cancer is devastating, however it put me on an educational path. During chemo i lost 2 friends with my exact same diagnosis. None of my large team of physicians could tell me why I acquired cancer or why my friends died. We were young, hard working women. I read, listened to podcasts and attended conferences with noted experts. Suzanne Somers was notable and she sparked my interest in self-care. Dave Asprey opened my brain to diet. Physicians recommended high carb, low fat for maintenance cancer prevention.
During chemo you have blood drawn at least once a week. I became familiar with my blood work and values it portrayed. I noticed blood sugar and liver enzymes. My chemo prescription was harsh; it gave me chemical menopause.
Knowing that, I needed a diet that would support the meager hormones I had remaining. All the research pointed to fat. Only healthy fat, no oxidizing seed oils.
I rendered my own tallow to try it since i love lamb leg roasts. Wonder upon wonder, it worked. Your hormones need fat and today testosterone levels are dropping worldwide, women have difficulty getting pregnant. Women run marathons but are afraid to gain a pound so cut fat. It takes healthy fat to enable your metabolism to work efficiently, not a lot but the quality matters. JACC released a study in 2020 that stated specifically beef, lamb and pork fat do not cause CVD and do prevent stroke. We also need it for fertility and libido. Healthy fat also does not cause an insulin reaction and is anti-inflammatory. I did research on stearic acid contained in healthy fat and it is fat burning in your body. Fat provides more energy per gram than any other nutrient. I think it's so important to simplify our diets back to basics. I'd love to help since my blood work is perfect after all my body has been through. Food is information and metabolism is the way your body handles food; your body needs healthy fat!
